During its 34-year history, the New England Classic has changed and evolved – a lot! In fact, the first year of this event in 1992 saw a route that encompassed all six New England states: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

That seemed pretty cool, but we’ve changed the NEC a few times over the years, and we’re changing it again for 2026.

We’re excited to announce that the New England Classic Charity Bike Tour will return July 11–14, 2026 — with all ride options starting Saturday, July 11 at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Dover, NH.

We’re shifting gears from our traditional 2-day and 7-day formats to a 1-day, 2-day and 4-day “hub and spoke” experience. From our single hub or home base, riders will pedal their way out and back on loop routes traveling through classically New England scenes on roads ideal for exploring the area on two wheels.

The fundraising minimums are as follows: $250 for the one-day NEC; $600 for the two-day NEC; and $1,500 for the four-day NEC. Net proceeds from the ride support the American Diabetes Association and Camp Carefree, a camp in NH for kids with Type I diabetes.

The 1-day and 2-day options will offer an approachable, rewarding challenge on the weekend, while the next two days on the 4-day option will feature more miles with a few more hills, perfect for those seeking a cycling adventure. The multi-day rides will include accommodations, and all rides feature the outstanding support that makes the New England Classic unique.
