The New England Classic volunteer crew, collectively, has probably driven or cycled every mile of highway, byway and off the beaten path back road in every state in New England. We’ve always done this with a purpose: to give you the best possible cycling routes, and to find the best possible overnight lodgings along the way.

Riders

We look for places with great customer service that are willing and able to accommodate the number of riders and volunteers we have on the NEC, and also provide a hearty dinner and breakfast. We want air-conditioned lodgings in peaceful and scenic locations, easy to get in and out of without having to dodge lots of traffic. They have to be reasonably priced, since our primary purpose is to raise money for a great cause. And they must be well-situated to enable us to ride our routes.

For 2026, we are changing the ride so that instead of picking six different places to stay, we are only picking one.  Our routes will be loops, originating in Dover, a hotel in New Hampshire that meets all of our expectations. Watch this space for further details!

The all-you-can-eat breakfast and dinner menus will vary, but all will feature healthy choices chosen with calorie-consuming cyclists in mind! Lunch is on your own each day, but we will try to provide good suggestions for places you might want to stop. There will also be two – four rest stops along each day’s route, stocked with water, Gatorade, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit.
