When you participate in the New England Classic Charity Bike Tour, you’ll be making a real difference for millions of Americans who suffer from diabetes. The net proceeds from the 2023 New England Classic will be donated to the American Diabetes Association to support the search for a cure.

A portion of the proceeds are also earmarked for the ADA’s Camp Carefree in New Hampshire, serving children with diabetes.

Why does it matter?

Diabetes is one of our nation’s greatest health challenges.
Consider these statistics from the American Diabetes Association:

34.2 million, or approximately 1 in 10: The estimated number of children and adults in the United States who have diabetes.

Of the 34.2 million, 26.8 million are diagnosed, and 7.3 million were undiagnosed.

88 million: The estimated number of Americans who have prediabetes.

Every 21 seconds someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with diabetes. This year 1.4 million people will be diagnosed with diabetes.

210,000 children and adolescents under age 20 years have diagnosed diabetes. This includes 187,000 with type 1 diabetes.

Camp Carefree’s mission is to provide a fun-filled, educational camping experience for children with diabetes that will help them to develop and maintain active, healthy lifestyles.
