That’s right! The Registration site is now live, and the next 19 riders to register (Merle’s already completed the first reg) will get this year’s 2011 Rider in Training Longsleeve Tshirt!

Photos are also available for downloads as well as creative projects (mugs, posters, cards, etc) via the same site (bottom of the page).

If you’re still working towards your fundraising minimum for the 2010 event, please let me know before registering for the 2011 event.

2009 and some 2010 event photos are now available on the Custom Print Now website. You can download the photos for free, and/or order prints, thank you cards, posters, and even make a tshirt! The best part – the proceeds go BACK to the NEC! The Custom Print folks are continually uploading the 300+ photos I’ve sent them, so please keep checking their site to view all of the 2010 photos!

2) Click “Find Event Photos”

2010 Survey and Feedback

I thought I had it all figured out. Set up a surveymonkey survey to capture everyone’s awesome ideas and thoughtful suggestions for the New England Classic Tour de Cure. Send it out, then head to diabetes camp for three weeks to witness the good works everyone’s fundraising accomplishes. In theory, a win. In practice, fail! Apparently surveymonkey only collects the first 40-45 responses before shutting itself off to any other survey-takers. Ok.
So, I’m posting this survey for all to check out, add to, and/or comment upon. We strive to give you a quality event that has a single purpose: to raise critical research and program dollars to fight diabetes.
Let me know how I can make that fight better known, reach farther, and hit harder in your neighborhoods. If you’re willing to lend a hand, even better!

We’ve got over 300 photos now on Picasa! I’m slowly getting them on Facebook so everyone can be “tagged” as well. There are three albums for the 2010 ride and I’ll soon have them uploaded to a third site that will allow anyone to order prints, mugs, posters, and thank-you cards. The best part = the proceeds go directly back to the NEC!

In the meantime, enjoy the show and keep checking your emails for more updates!

MassBike century

The MassBike summer century is next weekend.

It leaves from Lexington High School at 7-8:30am for the Century or 8-9:30am for the Metric Century. The high school is about two or three blocks off the Minuteman Bikeway right at Lexington Center.

I plan on riding the metric as the start is an 11 mile ride from my house.

Anyone else in on this? Wear your 2010 jersey!

Hiya Kids!
Well, You’re safely back in your own world by now, and you know me… Always one to mess with the status quo…
With that in mind, I’m thinking about expanding on an idea I had a few years ago, that didn’t work out too awful great- A POST NEC BBQ and Swim, that maybe even features a roughly 25 mile fun ride, perhaps even a 9 hole golf tourney at a local Par 3…
I tried this idea a few years ago, (Less the ride and golf) and got volunteers to attend, but not too many riders… SO this is where your opinion matters- If I were to put together a fun ride, BBQ and Swim in roughly mid-September, Would you be interested in joining us?
I welcome feedback, and am open to ideas… But with all the new friends we make annually on the NEC, WHY should the fun have to end on Day 7? Or even at the end of a calendar year? Once a veteran, always a veteran!
I will build it if you will come!

Delayed Raffle prizes

Hiya kids,
As I mentioned in an earlier post, noted columnist, radio host, correspondent to ABC News and Fox 25, and author Michele Mcphee donated some autographed copies of her latest book for raffle prizes on the NEC.
Well due to the quality employees of everyone’s favorite quasi-government agency, The US Postal Service, the first batch was lost in the mail. When I arrived home Friday night, there was a package from her, that even though sent priority mail, didn’t arrive before I left.
She sent us autographed copies of three of her latest True Crime books, for a total of eight…
Four copies of A Mob Story, Two copies of Heartless, and two copies of A Date with Death.
She was more generous than I expected, and now, I need to figure out how to give them all away… I’ve already figured out “Largest fundraiser, and “Captain of the largest team”, but now I’m stuck… This is where you come in.
Over on the Facebook page, I want you to nominate someone to receive one, (Not yourself, you greedy bastids) and you have to tell us WHY that person should get one… Then we will vote- All democratic like…
