Day 2 wrap-up

Hiya gang,
As I start typing, it’s 11:04 PM, most of the riders are asleep, or at the very least in bed, and I’m in my dorm room with Jim, the Head of Communications, and Eric, one of our mechanics, trying to unwind after one of the more hectic days of the trip… Not hectic because there were problems, issues, or concerns- But because it’s the day that the two day (NEC 150) riders leave us.
The 150 riders ride from Woburn, MA to Biddeford, ME- then they place their bikes in a tractor-trailer donated by one of our sponsors, UPS, and get themselves into the bus for the ride back to Woburn… They left here about 6:15 PM, and (I’m guessing) would have arrived at Parker Chomerics between 8:00 and 8:30PM, gotten their bike off the Truck, and gone on their seperate ways.
The seven day (NEC 550) riders continue on, and as UNE is a bay-side campus (Sorry, I’m too tired to google it to find out which bay it is) some took a walk to the gazebo out on the point.
I’ve taken a few pictures with the phone I JUST got Thursday 7/9, and since I have no clue how to work it, I brought the owners manual with me- As soon as I figure out how to, I’m going to try to upload a few pics…
The volunteers are planning a 6 AM meeting at the Gear-Truck, to get as much ice as we can get our hands on. UNE and UNH are always very generous on the ice front, typically donating 300-500 pounds of ice, based on our needs that day.
Tomorrow brings us West, across southern ME, Back into NH in the Freedom area, and to just the other side of North Conway, NH to Bartlett, NH and the Attitash Grand Summit Resort. I have confirmed reports that there IS in fact, internet access there, so I can assure you of another entry tomorrow.
Now, I’m going to take a shower, and see if I can catch up on some sleep.
Stay Tuned, Day 3 Tomorrow~
Keep the wind at your back, and the down-hill in front of you-
