Happy Holidays to All

The theme of American Diabetes Month this year was “the many faces of diabetes.”   That seems an appropriate theme beyond November since every rider and volunteer becomes the “face” of diabetes to those who come in contact with them during the New England Classic.

I want to thank all of our riders and volunteers for the work they do to represent ADA in such a positive light.  For many of them, the face of diabetes is a friend or a loved one that faces diabetes everyday.   Sometimes it is their own face.

I hope that during this holiday season you’re able to take the time to appreciate the faces that surround you, both at work and at home, and I hope you take the time to enjoy the season.

We have some exciting and busy times ahead of us and I hope the holidays give you respite, relaxation and renewal so that we return in the new year ready to face forward and take up the fight against diabetes once again.

Happy Holidays.

Hi all, I have been a volunteer on all of the NEC rides except the first one. What keeps me coming back each year are the volunteers I work with and the riders. They were a VERY surprising bunch the first year, and even though there are some changes each year the group has remained the fun bunch I look forward to each July. My partner, Bob Parsons and I go back and forth on the route looking for problems. Bob is a retired Firefighter/ EMT, and I am a retired engineer who is trained as a first responder. We fix both riders and bikes with problems. Past riders were used to seeing us in my Large red pickup. In 08 I am not sure what we will be driving as after 12 years we have sold the red truck. Some friends have said they will loan a PU for the NEC but time will tell. Thanks to all you riders and Volunteers for making the second week in July such a really fine time. See you all soon.
