Even with the wintry mess in the Boston area in the past few days, here is what I’ve seen:
Motorcycles: 0
Bicycles: 5
So, those signs that say “Motorcycles are everywhere” just have the wrong two-wheeled vehicle on them, right? At MassBike, we have talked a lot about a public awareness campaign, directed at the non-riding public (yeah, they don’t know what they’re missing!) to educate and inform motorists that bicycles are legal vehicles and do have a right to the road. This sentiment was echoed at the Boston Bikes Summit (Boston’s new bike initiatives) and very well voiced by Clint Paige of Belmont Wheelworks.
What do you think? What should some of those messages be? What would be the best means (TV, radio, billboards, print, bumper stickers, etc.) to get the word out?
I look forward to hearing your suggestions!
